The number of people who carry out online banking on their tablet computer is set to grow significantly.
This is according to a new report from Forrester Research, which predicts European tablet bankers will rise from a total of 19 million at the end of last year to 115 million in 2018.
Reasons for this growth will be higher tablet ownership, an increasing number of mobile banking apps and the fact people will have less security concerns when using a tablet to enter bank details compared to a mobile phone.
Forrester analyst Stephen Walker stated: "As customers start using their tablets and smartphones to do their banking, some will stop using their desktop and laptop PCs."
This predicted growth of online banking on tablets would be yet another example of how reliable broadband is being used for a increasing number of everyday tasks.
