The importance of educating satellite broadband users on how best to utilise the internet has been emphasised by an Ofcom report showing that many Britons are unsure if they are accessing illegal content online.
Almost half of consumers said they were unsure if they were doing so, while one in six admitted that they had done so over the last three months.
However, Ofcom stressed that the research indicates the importance of educating people about what they can and cannot do on the web in order to avoid further copyright infringement.
Dominic Storey, technical director for Europe, the Middle East and Asia at Sourcefire.com, recently warned UK businesses that they need to be aware of the risks they can face when utilising the internet.
"Sometimes you can be a casualty of someone else's attack, as most people who have had their credit cards compromised can attest to," argued Mr Storey.
