Women could be the future of online retail, according to a new survey by discount codes websiteVoucherCodes.co.uk.
The Future of Online Retail report found women already shop on the internet more than men.
When asked what goods they had never purchased online from a list that included clothes, electronics and groceries, 19 per cent of women said they had actually bought all of the items at some point. Only 13 per cent of men had done the same.
Just 19 per cent of women said they had never bought clothes on the internet, compared to 27 per cent of men.
Around half of the women predicted they will buy clothes, beauty products, holidays, furniture, entertainment, electronics and groceries online in the future, as opposed to 42 per cent of men.
Max Jennings, co-founder of VoucherCodes.co.uk, said: "Whilst male shoppers have traditionally been considered the early adopters of ecommerce, it is clear women have very much embraced online shopping."
